Vancouver - New Jersey Devils forward Zach Parise will undergo exploratory arthroscopic surgery on his knee and will be out for an undetermined period of time.

Parise did not play in the third period of Saturday's 3-1 loss to Los Angeles after aggravating an injury that hampered him during the summer. He flew back to New Jersey following the game and will not be in the lineup when his Devils take on the Canucks on Monday.

The 26-year-old has posted three goals and three assists in 12 games this season for the struggling Devils. Last year's Atlantic Division champs are the worst team in the NHL so far this season, compiling a 3-8-1 record while allowing nearly twice as many goals as they've scored.

Additionally, the team announced that forward Jacob Josefson will miss 6-to-8 weeks following surgery for a detached ligament in his hand. The 19-year-old Swede has yet to record a point in six games this year.
