New Jersey Devils centre John Madden was named a finalist for the Frank Selke Trophy for a fourth time yesterday, along with Detroit Red Wings forwards Pavel Datsyuk and Henrik Zetterberg.

The award is given to the forward "who best excels in the defensive aspects of the game."

He ranked seventh among NHL forwards in face-offs taken with 1,463 and posted a 53.7% winning percentage.

Datsyuk, meanwhile, led all NHL players with a plus-41 rating and topped all NHL forwards with 144 takeaways, 67% more than his nearest rival (Dallas' Mike Modano, who had 86.)

The Russian also ranked first among Red Wings forwards in blocked shots (42). Datsyuk is also up for the Lady Byng Trophy, awarded for sportsmanship.
