Trotz praises Ward
Bookmark and Share

Making himself a valuable commodity for the Predators is winger Joel Ward.

His Preds were perfect in 16 contests in which the 29-year-old has a point this season.

But it's not just that flattering stat that has head coach Barry Trotz giving Ward glowing reviews.

"He does a little bit of everything for you. You can play him in every role," Trotz said. "Every team has that one player, no matter where you move him, that line gets better. He's just one of those guys."

In his second full season in the NHL, Ward has gained Trotz's trust as both a scorer and checker.

"He can defend very well. He's got good angles. A strong stick. He has a lot of detail in his game."
