Drury has knee surgery, out six weeks

NEW YORK - New York Rangers captain Chris Drury had arthroscopic surgery on his left knee Friday and will be out for the next six weeks.

The surgery was performed by Dr. Andrew Feldman at the NYU Langone Medical Center's Hospital for Joint Diseases. Head coach John Tortorella stated after practice on Wednesday that Drury, 34, would have to go under the knife.

The 12-year veteran has played in only 23 games this season, largely the result of a finger that he broke twice in different spots.

Drury had never played in fewer than 71 games during the course of a season before this year and has just four assists.

Would Patrick Roy make a good coach for the Colorado Avalanche?
  Yes, he's perfect
  No, he's not ready
  Bring him to Montreal!
