NEW YORK - New York Rangers right wing Ryan Callahan will miss 6-8 weeks with a broken left hand, according to head coach John Tortorella.

Tortorella made the announcement while addressing the media prior to Thursday's game against the Phoenix Coyotes.

Callahan suffered the break while blocking a shot in the first period of Wednesday's 4-1 win against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

He left the ice and did not return to the game.

A four-year veteran, Callahan has 10 goals and 13 assists in 32 games this season.

Would Patrick Roy make a good coach for the Colorado Avalanche?
  Yes, he's perfect
  No, he's not ready
