Visnovsky reportedly files grievance over trade to Islanders

Apparently Lubomir Visnovsky doesn't relish the thought of spending the winter on Long Island.

Visnovsky has filed a grievance with the NHLPA to void his trade to the New York Islanders from the Ahameim Ducks, a June deal that saw a second-round pick in 2013 go the other way.

According to Newsday, Visnovsky claims in the grievance that he has a no-trade clause in his contract and shouldn't have been moved without his approval. He didn't invoke the clause when the Edmonton Oilers traded him to Anaheim, though.

"It's not about Lubo saying he doesn't want to go to the Isles," Neil Sheehy, Visnovsky's agent, told Newsday. "He likes what they say. This is about establishing what's right."

An arbitrator will hear from both sides and, according to Newsday, if Visnovsky wins, the trade will be revoked. If the Ducks win, it will stand.

Visnovsky had six goals and 21 assists in 68 games with the Ducks last season.
