Isles sign Montoya to one-year extension
By Sports Network

UNIONDALE, N.Y. -- The New York Islanders on Tuesday agreed to a one-year contract extension with goaltender Al Montoya.

The 26-year-old has compiled an 8-4-4 record with a 2.35 goals-against average and a .923 save percentage in 17 games with the Islanders after being acquired from Phoenix last month.

A standout at the University of Michigan, Montoya backstopped Team USA to its first ever gold medal at the 2004 World Junior Championship and was taken sixth overall by the New York Rangers later that year in the draft.

Prior to joining the Islanders, the Illinois native had played in five career NHL games -- all with the Coyotes during the 2008-09 season, going 3-1-0 with a 2.08 GAA and .925 save percentage.

Would Seattle be a good city for the NHL to relocate to?
Yes, it'd be a great market.
  Maybe, who knows.
No, they should go to Quebec instead.
