Uniondale, NY - The New York Islanders agreed to terms on a three-year contract with forward Matt Moulson on Thursday.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but nhlnumbers.com reports that it is for $3.133 per season.

Moulson, who avoided arbitration during the summer and was signed to a one- year deal worth $2.45 million, has posted 17 goals and 29 points in 49 games this season for the struggling Islanders.

A former ninth-round pick of the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2003 draft, the 27-year-old has compiled 53 goals and 87 points in 160 games over parts of four seasons with the Kings and Isles.

After benching Brad Richards should the New York Rangers eventually just buy him out?
  Yes.
  Might be a good idea.
  No.
  Not sure.
