UNIONDALE, N.Y. -- The New York Islanders announced on Monday that defenceman Milan Jurcina will miss 2-to-4 weeks with a hamstring injury.
Jurcina suffered the injury, termed a hamstring muscle pull, during last Friday's loss against Montreal, and did not play in Saturday's defeat in Philadelphia.
In his first season with the Isles, the 27-year-old has two goals and three points in 10 games thus far.
In an earlier roster move, the Islanders placed forward Jon Sim on waivers. The journeyman, who has spent his career bouncing between the AHL and NHL, posted just one assist in 11 games this year for New York.
