If ever there was an example of how much the calm, cool and collected Andrei Markov is a complement to the uber-skilled, always emotional P.K. Subban, it was on display on Friday night in Tampa.

With the Montreal Canadiens holding a slim 1-0 lead over the Lightning in the second period, Subban was starting to lose his cool, running around all over the ice and leering at the Tampa bench.

Enter Markov who, thankfully for the Canadiens, became the voice of reason.

It was Markov who pulled Subban aside and talked him off the ledge, verbally helping the 2013 Norris Trophy winner to regain his composure.

Sure enough, just a couple of minutes later, Subban assisted on the eventual game-winner when his clearout attempt eventually made its way on to the stick of Rene Bourque, whose outstanding individual effort put the Canadiens up 2-0 in game they would eventually capture 4-1.
