MONTREAL - Canadiens winger Max Pacioretty blew up the stats of Minnesota Wild goaltender Josh Harding Tuesday night with a natural hat trick in the Habs’ 6-2 win at the Bell Centre.

Then Pacioretty took aim at the critics who have been riding him and linemate David Desharnais, who had just one assist in 19 games going into Tuesday’s game.

“That’s my happiest moment about the game. Davey takes way too much criticism,” said Pacioretty of Desharnais, who assisted on his first two goals, the second assist a spectacular spinning backpass onto Pacioretty’s stick in the slot.

“Tonight it was like, just forget everything. We know how we can play together. Those passes he gave me were something he probably wouldn’t have tried because he was in his own head before. He’s just got to trust his gut and trust his instincts and that’s what he did on those plays. You can’t get set up better than that."
