MONTREAL - A kid on the other team ripped into the Edmonton Oilers before the game even started, then Dallas Eakins took his turn in the first intermission.

And eventually the players got the message.

Stop playing like crap.

So they did, scoring four straight goals in Montreal to overcome a 2-0 deficit, post a 4-3 victory, soothe their coach and shove a handful of bulletin-board material down the throat of one Lars Eller.

So after spending the first four games of their marathon road trip on their knees, the Oilers ended on their feet, finishing the six-game swing with a 2-3-1 record thanks to their first back-to-back wins of the season.

And, if you ask Eakins, thanks to some pre-game trash talk from Eller, who said the Oilers were like a junior team that was all over the place with not a lot of structure.

Not cool.

Youve got a kid whos trying to get his feet wet calling an organization a junior team, said Eakins, who didnt wait for anybody to ask him about the quotes. I knew it was going to turn. It was a total hockey-god thing. He might as well have sent me a fruit basket and a bottle of wine. That was a really great present that Mr. Eller laid on us today.

Im sure that man has learned his lesson and I highly doubt youll ever hear anything like that out of his mouth again.
