TORONTO - Just when you thought a war of words between the Maple Leafs and Montreal Canadiens might bust out in two languages, P.K. Subban claims the Habs are not going to be sucked into playing such games.

P.K. Subban refusing to chirp in public?

Playoff time must be close.

Subban was the centre of a media crush on Saturday morning when he came off the ice after the Canadiens’ morning skate at the Air Canada Centre. The issue in question: Comments made by the Leafs’ Joffrey Lupul about 24 hours earlier.

In Lupul’s opinion, the most effective way for the Leafs to wear down the Canadiens is by using the body and hammer away at their smaller rivals. Of course, the way some loyal Habs fans in La Belle Province perceived Lupul’s words, it was like the big, bad bullies from Toronto were threatening to kick sand in the faces of their long-time rivals from Montreal.
