Canadiens' Budaj wins against diminished Flyers
By CHRIS STEVENSON, QMI Agency

Making the stop during the second period of the Montreal Canadiens, Philadelphia Flyers tilt is goaltender Peter Budaj. Budaj got the call in net on Feb. 16, as starter Carey Price had the flu. The Canadiens won 4-1 at the Bell Centre in Montreal. (MARTIN CHEVALIER/QMI Agency)

MONTREAL - It was a tossup.

Which was the bigger surprise at the Bell Centre Saturday night: the fact the Montreal Canadiens got a win with somebody other than Carey Price in their net or how far the Philadelphia Flyers have fallen?

Price came down with a virus, apparently, Friday night and was declared unfit to serve.

Enter Peter Budaj who was 0-1-1 so far this season with a 4.33 goals against average and a .866 save percentage.

This was his first start at home this season and he was basically the caretaker of a 4-1 win over a pathetic Flyers team that managed just 18 shots on Budaj (their previous low this season was 23).
