Canadiens' Budaj wins against diminished Flyers
By CHRIS STEVENSON, QMI Agency
MONTREAL - It was a tossup. Which was the bigger surprise at the Bell Centre Saturday night: the fact the Montreal Canadiens got a win with somebody other than Carey Price in their net or how far the Philadelphia Flyers have fallen? Price came down with a virus, apparently, Friday night and was declared unfit to serve. Enter Peter Budaj who was 0-1-1 so far this season with a 4.33 goals against average and a .866 save percentage. This was his first start at home this season and he was basically the caretaker of a 4-1 win over a pathetic Flyers team that managed just 18 shots on Budaj (their previous low this season was 23). |
