Canadiens goaltender Carey Price out with flu

MONTREAL - The Montreal Canadiens were without Carey Price on Saturday after the goaltender came down with a case of the flu.

Price, off to a blazing 8-3-0 start to the season, was coming off two straight wins over the Tampa Bay Lightning and Florida Panthers earlier in the week.

The Habs started Peter Budaj against the Philadelphia Flyers in Montreal. Entering the game, Budaj was 0-1-1 in two appearances.

"'Buds' has played well for us when he's been in there and then we go and make mental mistakes and mental errors and we're not sharp," admitted Habs defenceman Josh Gorges. "We have to do a better job in front of him and help him out a lot more than we have."

The team recalled goaltender Robert Mayer from Hamilton of the AHL.
