Canadiens surprise NHL East with their lofty start

MONTREAL - The Montreal Canadiens are winning.

That in itself is news for a team that finished last in the Eastern Conference last season.

What’s interesting is the Habs are showing they can win different ways, too.

For the most part, they’ve been scoring goals, sixth in the league in average goals per game at 3.25.
