P.K. Subban on ice but not Canadiens lineup

MONTREAL - Montreal Canadiens coach Michel Therrien got his first look at P.K. Subban on Tuesday and he likes what he’s seen from the defenceman so far.

But Therrien wasn’t going to speculate on when Subban, who signed a two-year contract Monday, would be ready to play a game.

Subban, who passed his physical earlier in the day, skated with the rest of the Habs’ Black Aces in the morning skate at Scotiabank Place as the Canadiens prepared to play the Ottawa Senators on Wednesday. While he waited for his contract situation to be resolved, he skated with the Mississauga Steelheads of the Ontario Hockey League.

It's Don Cherry - who knows what he will say.
