Canadiens forward Max Pacioretty has emergency appendectomy

Montreal Canadiens will have to do without forward Max Pacioretty for the next three-to-four weeks.

The team announced that the 24-year-old underwent an emergency appendectomy Saturday night in Montreal.

Pacioretty has four assists in three games this season.

The New Canaan, Conn., native had 33 goals and 32 assists for 65 points in 79 games with the Habs last season. He was drafted 22nd overall by the team in 2007.
