MONTREAL - Montreal Canadiens forward Rene Bourque had abdominal surgery Wednesday and will be sidelined for 8-12 weeks.

Bourque tore his abdominal wall during off-season training that required surgery to fix, the Canadiens said in a brief press release. The timeline for his return would be late October or November, so he'd likely miss the first month of the season if it starts on time.

After being acquired from the Calgary Flames in a mid-season deal that sent Mike Cammalleri west, Bourque had five goals and three asists in 38 games with the Canadiens. He had 13 goals and three assists in 38 games with the Flames.

Would Seattle be a good city for the NHL to relocate to?
Yes, it'd be a great market.
  Maybe, who knows.
No, they should go to Quebec instead.
