Patrick Roy was interviewed for the Montreal Canadiens coaching job, the former NHL goaltending star said Wednesday.

Roy said he spoke for several hours with general manager Marc Bergevin and also talked over the phone with assistant GM Rick Dudley.

The Canadiens opted instead Tuesday to hire Michel Therrien as coach.

Roy said he would continue his association with the Quebec Remparts of the QMJHL and that there was no bitterness on his part.

"It's still flattering to be considered for the position ... and I wish good luck to Michel," Roy said.

Would Patrick Roy make a good coach for the Colorado Avalanche?
  Yes, he's perfect
  No, he's not ready
  Bring him to Montreal!
