Forward Mathieu Darche and defenceman Alexei Emelin were missing Thursday from Montreal Canadiens practice.

While the team said Darche had an upper-body injury, the 35-year-old had to leave the game against the Dallas Stars on Tuesday because of dizziness.

Emelin, 25, was absent because his wife gave birth to a daughter. The Russian should be able to join the team in Washington for a game Friday night against the Capitals.

Recovered from a nasty cold, forward Tomas Plekanec, who missed the game against the Stars, returned to practice.
