Adding injury to Habs' insult

MONTREAL - The Canadiens had injury added to insult Tuesday night.
It was bad enough having former teammate Jaroslav Halak come back to the Bell Centre and shut them out 3-0.
Losing captain Brian Gionta in the third period, who was just two games into a return after missing 11 games with a lower body injury, made it worse.
Gionta pulled up along the end boards, went off the ice and hurled his stick like a javelin down the hallway leading to the Canadiens dressing room.
His condition will be updated Wednesday.
The Canadiens’ playoff hopes, meanwhile, are close to being put on the critical list.
They remain seven points back of the last playoff berth in the Eastern Conference, thanks to the free fall in which the eighth-place Pittsburgh Penguins find themselves.
Canadiens goaltender Carey Price lost the matchup against his former teammate Tuesday, but wasn’t interested in looking at the other end of the ice. He was staring at the whiteboard near his stall in the Canadiens dressing room that shows the NHL standings.
“I’m frustrated right now because of our position on that board over there,” he said, “nothing else.”
