Subban, Plekanec scrap at practice

BROSSARD, QUE. - Montreal Canadiens teammates P.K. Subban and Tomas Plekanec had more to say to each other than "Happy New Year" Monday.

The two Habs got into a tussle that resulted in a brief scrap during the team's practice. The young defenceman and veteran forward got into a small altercation on the ice, before things heated up with Plekanec even dropping his gloves to try to get a shot in at Subban.

"It was an intense practice and this kind of thing can happen sometimes," Plekanec said. "It wasn't anything personal between P.K. and I."

While the other players quickly intervened to end the fight, forward Michael Cammalleri also had a few words for Subban later in the practice.

The 22-year-old didn't always win the dressing room popularity contest in 2011, and 2012 seems to be the same story.

After practice, Habs coach Randy Cunneyworth had the players do an additional 30 minutes of conditioning work.

Meanwhile, Scott Gomez, Brian Gionta and Ryan White continued to practice separate from the rest of the team as they rehab injuries.

Would Seattle be a good city for the NHL to relocate to?
Yes, it'd be a great market.
  Maybe, who knows.
No, they should go to Quebec instead.
