Brad Boyes scored the game-winning goal in the second round of a shootout, sending the Buffalo Sabres to a 3-2 win over the Montreal Canadiens at the Bell Centre.

Boyes rushed up the ice slowly and used a backhand-forehand deke to fake out Carey Price before sliding the puck into an open net for the winner.

Derek Roy and Jason Pominville scored the other goals for the Sabres, who got 25 saves from Jhonas Enroth, filling in for an injured Ryan Miller.

Max Pacioretty had a goal and an assist while Erik Cole scored for the Canadiens, who got 30 saves from Price in the loss.
