Forward Scott Gomez was back on the ice with his Montreal Canadiens teammates Monday.

Gomez, who has missed the past seven games because of a shoulder injury, is not expected to play Tuesday against the Edmonton Oilers but could be available when the Canadiens play Thursday in Phoenix or Saturday in Nashville.

Gomez replaced Andrei Kostitsyn on a line Monday with Lars Eller and Travis Moen and skated at full speed.

Gomez, 32, has just one assist in six games.

MAX FACTOR AT MGH

Montreal Canadiens forward Max Pacioretty, who missed part of last season with a concussion and broken vertebra, announced Monday that he's created a foundation to help the Montreal General Hospital.

The Max Pacioretty Foundation will help raise money for MGH's Traumatic Brain Injury Centre to buy a functional MRI machine. The foundation has a goal of raising $3.5 million.

''I received great care at the Montreal General Hospital and now that I have fully recovered I want to do my share and give back," Pacioretty said in a press release. "The fact that this new MRI unit has several applications not only for athletes but for concussion patients of all ages, adult and children, is really important. Also, members of the Canadian Armed Forces suffering post traumatic stress syndrome (PTSS), will benefit from this new equipment."
