MONTREAL - The Montreal Canadiens brought in goaltender Peter Budaj on a two-year contract Friday.

Budaj went 15-21-4 with a 3.20 goals-against average and .895 save percentage in 45 games with the Colorado Avalanche last season.

The 28-year-old has compiled a 101-92-27 record with a 2.83 GAA and nine shutouts over 242 career games with the Avalanche, who selected the native Slovakian in the second round of the 2001 draft.
