MONTREAL The Montreal Canadiens have called up centre Ryan White from the Hamilton Bulldogs as they try to break a two-game losing streak.

White will join the team on Thursday and could be in uniform when the Habs take on the New York Islanders at the Bell Centre.

White, 22, appeared in three games this season.

The native of Brandon, Man. was held pointless, recording one shot on goal and five penalty minutes while maintaining a +1 plus/minus differential.

The 60, 198-pound forward scored three goals and had nine assists in 33 games with the Bulldogs this season.

He was a third-round selection (66th overall) by the Canadiens in the 2006 entry draft, appearing in a total of 19 NHL games.
