Montreal - The Montreal Canadiens have placed forward Dustin Boyd on waivers on Monday.

Boyd scored Montreal's first goal of the season in the opener against Toronto on October 7, but has done little since then and over nine games this season he has just the one goals and is minus-six.

He was a healthy scratch for five games, but has played the last three and went minus-four in those contests.

"With no injuries and a full roster, it's been hard to find a spot for Dustin to fill in and contribute," said Montreal head coach Jacques Martin. "Right now we're just going to see what happens but at this moment we have no intention of sending him to Hamilton."

Over his five seasons in the NHL, the 24-year old has totaled 32 goals and 31 assists in 219 games. He spent his first four seasons with the Flames then spent last year with the Predators before signing as a free agent with Montreal in the offseason.
