Montreal - The Montreal Canadiens agreed to terms with defenceman Alexandre Picard to a one-year, two-way contract, the club announced on Monday.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

The 25-year-old blueliner started last season with Ottawa before getting sent to Carolina in a February trade. Picard totaled four goals and 11 assists in 54 combined games between both organizations.

In 193 games, spanning five seasons in the NHL, Picard has registered 16 goals and 57 points with Philadelphia, Tampa Bay, Ottawa and Carolina.
