MONTREAL -- The Montreal Canadiens will be without key defencemen Andrei Markov and Mathieu Schneider for tonight's game against the Ottawa Senators.

Both were injured in Saturday night's win over the Toronto Maple Leafs.

That is really going to hurt the Montreal power play as the Habs continue their battle to make the playoffs.

The Canadiens are hoping to have Markov and Schneider back for tomorrow night's game in New York against the Rangers, a game that has huge implications for the playoff race.

The Canadiens are in seventh place in the Eastern Conference with 92 points through 78 games and lead the Rangers and the Florida Panthers, who have both played 79 games, by three points.

The Canadiens called up defenceman Doug Janik from the Hamilton Bulldogs of the AHL.

Jaroslav Halak will start in nets for the Habs as Carey Price continues to recover from flu-like symptoms.

It's expected Price will get the start in New York tomorrow night.
