The Montreal Canadiens have called up Kyle Chipchura from Hamilton for tonight's game against the Florida Panthers.
He replaces Andrei Kostitsyn, who was injured Saturday following a hard check from Phoenix Coyotes defenceman Kurt Sauer. Kostitsyn was sporting a welt on his head as he was leaving the ice.
Head coach Guy Carbonneau said there is no reason to rush Kostitsyn back in the lineup, as the Habs won't play again until next Saturday against the Anaheim Ducks.
"We'll see how it feels (today), but I would be extremely surprised to see him in uniform against the Panthers," Carbonneau told the Journal de Montreal.
Georges Laraque and Chris Higgins will also miss the game tonight.
