Dustin Brown scored a pair of goals and Jonathan Quick made 25 saves, as the Los Angeles Kings handled the Vancouver Canucks, 4-1, at Staples Center.

Jarret Stoll and Justin Williams also lit the lamp for the Kings, who also beat Vancouver on October 9. Ryan Smyth had two assists for Los Angeles, which has won three of its first four games to start the season.

"Going through a season there is definitely ups and downs," Brown said. "If we can consistently work hard over time then things are going to happen for you."

Daniel Sedin scored the lone goal for the Canucks, who have lost three of four to begin the year. Roberto Luongo turned aside 15-of-19 shots in defeat.

The Kings got on the board just 2:48 into the first period. Jack Johnson's wrister from the left circle was deflected into the net by Stoll.

Williams made it a 2-0 game at the 3:36 mark of the second. Williams gathered the puck in the slot and fired a shot that hit off the skate of a Vancouver player before sneaking through the legs of Luongo.

Daniel Sedin scored at the 6:53 mark of the third to make it a 2-1 game. Henrik Sedin controlled the puck at the top of the right circle and slid a pass to the left side of the net for his brother, who chipped the puck past Quick.

Brown gave the Kings a two-goal cushion again just 50 seconds later. Anze Kopitar backhanded a pass from the right side of the net to Brown, who completed the play with a wrister.

With 7:07 remaining in the game, Brown scored his second goal to put the victory on ice.

"It was a hard-fought game, two teams battling really hard. Not a lot of room out there," Canucks head coach Alain Vigneault said. "We didn't give them much [and] they didn't give us much. They got a couple of bounces on their first two goals...We just have to stick with the process."
