Colorado Avalanche defeat Edmonton Oilers 3-1

DENVER - High altitude wasn’t a problem for the Edmonton Oilers.

Not for very long, anyway.

Their heads weren’t in the clouds more than a few minutes before they started crashing down to earth in a long and uninspired swan dive against what’s left of the Colorado Avalanche.

Despite playing without the likes of Gabriel Landeskog, Steve Downie and Ryan O’Reilly, and also playing their third game in three and a half days, the Avs were simply harder and hungrier in a 3-1 decision.
