SCORE MORE?

Leafs coach Ron Wilson had a chuckle at Carolina coach Paul Maurice's prediction that both struggling teams would have a breakout game scoring last night. Tongue partly in cheek, Maurice predicted one team would win 9-8.

"We've been playing much better defensively so I don't see the game going in that direction," Wilson said. "But if he wants to give up eight or nine goals, we'll take that right now."

FINGER FOOD

After six games as a healthy scratch, Jeff Finger returned to the Leafs lineup. Wilson says that for Finger to stay in the lineup he has to revert to what he did successfully at times last season: "Move pucks quickly, clear the front of the net and keep his game simple," Wilson said.
