AW, SHOOT

After his big 10-shot debut as a Maple Leaf, the shots didn't come so easily to Phil Kessel last night. Facing tighter checking from the Hurricanes, Kessel had just two shots in the Leafs win.

FIRST LINE, FIRST GOAL

John Mitchell was moved to first-line centre duty with Jason Blake and Kessel last night and responded with his first goal of the season the started the Leafs' come-from-behind win.

YOUNG GUN

When young Brandon Sutter opened the scoring for the 'Canes, it was the 13th time in 14 games that the Leafs opponent had scored first this season. The Leafs have been outscored 17-5 in first periods.
