According to Hockey Night in Canada play-by-play man Jim Hughson, Canucks GM Mike Gillis asked not to be shown sitting in his press box perch during the broadcast. Given the so-called feud going on between the Canucks and Leaf organizations, Gillis did not want to be in the spotlight.

KNUCKLE SANDWICH

Having played his junior hockey several hours to the east in Kelowna, B.C., Luke Schenn had a number of friends and family in the house. Unfortunately he took a costly penalty in the first period and was in the box when the Canucks opened the scoring. He also came out on the short end of a spirited scrap with the Canucks' Tanner Glass.

BAD AIM

In the first period, Lee Stempniak had a partial shorthanded breakaway but shot the puck six feet wide. In the second, he once again found himself alone in front of Roberto Luongo -- and missed the net again.
