Huge offer on table for Shane Doan

Shane Doan indeed has received a four-year offer worth a minimum of $7 million a season, the free-agent winger's agent told the New York Daily News.

The offer is from a team outside of New York, agent Terry Bross said.

Doan, who turns 36 in October, had just 22 goals and 28 assists last season with the Phoenix Coyotes. He has not yet decided to leave the franchise with which he has spent his entire 16-year career.

Bross said Doan has visited just three other teams: The New York Rangers, Philadelphia Flyers and Vancouver Canucks. But the Pittsburgh Penguins, Montreal Canadiens and Nashville Predators also are thought to be in the mix should Doan decide to desert the desert.

Would Patrick Roy make a good coach for the Colorado Avalanche?
  Yes, he's perfect
  No, he's not ready
  Bring him to Montreal!
