So Bryan McCabe, who leaked his own signing a month ago, wants an apology from those who wondered why he didn't sign earlier with the Leafs in light of his admission of health concerns regarding his wife. Had McCabe wanted time and peace, which is understandable, maybe next time he won't tell people he's signed, before he tells his own family.
HALL OF SHAME
For 30 years, there was no reason to put Dick Duff in the Hockey Hall of Fame. No one screamed about the injustice of his being overlooked. He was a good player on good teams in the Original Six. But the Hall can't help itself in its gratuity. Pavel Bure, passed over, scored more goals in his five best seasons than Duff did in 17 years.
In the past, the Blue Jays had Rance Mulliniks and Garth Iorg; Buck Martinez and Ernie Whitt. But they probably never have had anything like the current left field platoon of Frank Catalanotto and Reed Johnson. Their numbers are astounding. They have the two highest batting averages and the two highest on-base percentages. What more could be asked of them?
