Kevin Lowe delivered.

In Chris Pronger and Mike Peca, he gave his bosses and Oilers fans just what they'd asked for - by sealing two deals within less than 24 hours.

"We were able to combine making a splash wtih making the right hockey move," said the Oilers GM.

And the ownership group of the Edmonton Oilers has given Lowe permission to carry on spending.

"Depends on who the player is," coyly replied co-owner and president Cal Nichols.

"We're trying to match together quality of player with the amount of money it would take to get him and how much we have to spend.

"Kevin has some wiggle room and we'll leave it up to him. He knows what deals are going on and we'll see what we can get."

Even with Pronger and Peca filling two holes in the lineup, Lowe suggested he's not done yet in trying to latch on to more players - be it an unrestricted free agent or through another blockbuster trade.

"We've added a centre ... but I'm not saying we're completely finished," said Lowe.

"We still have our lines out there. If there's another centre out there who hasn't been signed already that fits what we're looking for then we'll go after him."
