Shut your trap, Roberto Luongo.

That's the message Don Cherry, the sport's most polarizing talking head, conveyed to his Hockey Night in Canada audience Saturday night.

The Canucks "were pretty good to you, Roberto," the 80-year-old pundit said during his first-intermission segment, Coach's Corner. "They give you $60 million, they send you to Florida to where you wanted, and what do you do? You send them a text making fun of them that you'd mop up.

"What kind of guy are you? You know how much I think of you. Let's knock if off. They're down, they're having a tough time right now."

"You're in paradise, keep your mouth shut," Cherry added.

By text, Cherry actually meant tweet.

New Florida Panther goalie Luongo, perhaps equally as famous for his Twitter exploits as his play in the crease, sent out a few seemingly tongue-in-cheek tweets on Thursday while Vancouver was being blown out by the Dallas Stars, 6-1.

"If I was still the back up I coulda came in and mopped this game up nicely....," Luongo said through his Twitter handle, @strombone1.

"#Pray4Eddie," read another tweet, specifically referencing his old backup and buddy Eddie Lack.

Parlayed with forward Steven Anthony, Luongo was traded Tuesday to the Panthers in exchange for forward Shawn Matthias and goalie Jacob Markstrom. It is viewed as one of the biggest transactions this season, happening a day before the deadline.

On Friday, in his first game back in a Panthers uniform, the 34-year-old Montreal native posted a 25-save shutout. Luongo played for the Cats from 2000 to 2006.
