Panthers lock up Fleischmann
By Sports Network

SUNRISE, FLA. - The Florida Panthers signed right wing Tomas Fleischmann to a four-year contract on Friday.

Fleischmann had 12 goals and 19 assists between the Washington Capitals and Colorado Avalanche last season.

"We are excited to welcome Tomas Fleischmann to the Florida Panthers organization," said Florida general manager Dale Tallon. "Tomas is a big, hard-working winger that can play a variety of roles for our team and will add depth at the forward position."

A second-round pick of Detroit in the 2002 draft, the 27-year old has totaled 68 goals and 91 assists over 305 games in the NHL, all but 22 with Washington.

Would Patrick Roy make a good coach for the Colorado Avalanche?
