Dallas Eakins made a bee-line to the visitors’ dressing room after Sunday’s 4-2 win against the Anaheim Ducks.

But unlike Vancouver Canucks head coach John Tortorella, it wasn’t to get at his counterpart.

Eakins showed up outside the Ducks room shortly after the conclusion of the game, seeking Ducks head coach Bruce Boudreau to clear the air after a fight-filled second period.

“I went over to talk to Bruce real quickly,” Eakins said on Monday. “There were two things: Their two top players (Corey Perry and Ryan Getzlaf) who are two of my favourite guys to watch — Corey Perry is from where I grew up when we moved to Canada when I was almost eight years old, Peterborough, and I’ve always kept an eye on him.

“And I love Getzlaf as a player and they took great exception to (Steve) Pinizzotto fighting (Matt) Beleskey and started to come after me on the bench.”
