The Edmonton Oilers had a chance to go into the Olympic break as one of the hottest teams in the NHL.

They'll have to settle for going in having collected points in six of their last seven games.

On Friday, the Oilers fell 2-1 in overtime to the New Jersey Devils.

Jon Merrill scored 2:34 into overtime, seconds after Adam Henrique got away with a hook on Oilers defenceman Martin Marincin in the corner.
