EDMONTON - Ben Scrivens was as good as the Edmonton Oilers were bad.

On a night when anything less would have meant a crushing defeat, Scrivens turned in a goaltending performance for the ages Wednesday, stopping 59 shots in a 3-0 victory that everyone at Rexall Place shaking their heads with equal parts amazement and disbelief.

It was crazy. Insane. One of those games where you dont even really believe what youre seeing.

You looked at your neighbour and said this cant last. But it just kept lasting. Save after save after unbelievable save.

The shots were 20-7 San Jose after the first period.

And it was 1-0 Oilers.

Shots were 42-16 after two periods.

And it was 1-0 Oilers.

Scrivens career high for saves in a game was 40. He had 42 after two periods.
