EDMONTON - The news doesn’t look especially good for goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov. He’s been placed on injured reserve after being run over in last Sunday’s shootout win in Dallas.

That makes him unavailable for Edmonton’s next two games.

Bryzgalov, who’d been pretty solid since joining the Oilers, posting a 2.11 GAA and .939 save percentage in parts of four games, is wrestling with concussion and whiplash symptoms that the Oilers were hoping would quickly clear on their own.

They’re not, so he’s on the shelf for a while.

The Oilers also made a handful of roster moves in the wake of Thursday’s 6-2 defeat at the hands of Phoenix.

They’ve sent defenceman Denis Grebeshkov and centre Will Acton down to Oklahoma City and recalled defencemen Martin Marinicin and Corey Potter as well as centre Anton Lander.
