EDMONTON - Calling it a defence might be a little generous after Tuesday night against Phoenix.

The way Edmonton’s blueline struggled in that 6-2 loss, F-fence is probably the more accurate grade.

So the worn-out path to the Oilers drawing board saw a little more traffic Wednesday when they gathered at Rexall Place to try figuring out and fixing all the things that went so horribly wrong against the Coyotes.

Don’t expect an especially quick fix, but they are working on it.

“As a team, as a group, we’re all very aware of the breakdowns last game,” said head coach Dallas Eakins. “The challenge is not to turn it into something bigger. I’m hoping that we covered it off this morning. It was a long meeting where I did a lot of talking. I asked for the group’s input and we all agreed where we’re at.
