One slight advantage of being in a fantasy pool with weekly moves is the extra time built in before making a decision on a potential waiver claim.

Ilya Bryzgalov, freshly signed and inserted into the Oilers’ goalkeeping rotation this past week, would be Exhibit A. Many owners in Yahoo and other pools with daily transactions who were playing the wait-and-see game with the veteran goalie, jumped all over Bryz after his 33-save shutout of the Predators in his first Oilers start on Thursday.

Less than 24 hours later, those same owners may have been wondering why they acted so hastily when Bryzgalov was lifted after allowing four goals -- at least two of the dodgy variety -- on 23 shots at Columbus.
