EDMONTON - The Edmonton Oilers tried not to get too excited about their recent three-game win streak.

By the same token, they’re not too low after being beaten by the Chicago Blackhawks 5-1 on Monday.

Preparing to head out on a three-game road trip starting Thursday against the Nashville Predators, the Oilers are keeping an even keel, knowing there’s a lot of work to do.

“The thing that we’re hammering home here, is that you can’t be concerned and focused on the end results,” said Oilers head coach Dallas Eakins. “You have to concern yourself with the process and the process of winning a game. That process starts right now, in getting their minds right, what they’re eating, to practice (Wednesday), their warm-up, to their first shift to their second shift and then their third shift in Nashville.

“If we look after those and we break it down to the process, then the end result will look after itself.”
