EDMONTON - Richard Bachman is doing all he can to stay in Edmonton.

Despite giving up four goals in a 4-0 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs on Tuesday, Bachman had an otherwise strong outing. Few were pointing the finger at the goaltender for the loss.

“I thought he played well again,” said Oilers head coach Dallas Eakins. “Those two-on-one goals are tough for a goalie and the goal that (Phil) Kessel scored, there are not many guys that will score a goal like that, right from the goal line to roof it like that.

“I don’t fault him on that one either. He played well again for me and we have a day off (Wednesday) and I can think about it more and we’ll see how (Devan) Dubnyk is going forward.”

Called up Sunday from the Oklahoma City Barons on an emergency basis, Bachman has been a bright spot in an Oilers season circling the drain.
