WASHINGTON, D.C. - It’s usually a good thing when a team holds the other guys to 13 shots through 50 minutes.

Unless you’re the Edmonton Oilers. Good things don’t usually happen to the Edmonton Oilers.

In a year where very little has gone right for the snake-bitten franchise, it was another dose of “what just happened,” Monday night in Washington, where they outplayed the Capitals for about 56 minutes worth of a deflating 4-2 defeat.

On another one of those nights where just about everything the other team sent at Edmonton’s net went in, four minutes were more than enough to hand the slumping Oilers their fourth straight loss.
